Evolution of Technology Essay

A very interesting and thought provoking essay is the Evolution of Technology essay. The essay questions whether we are really at a point in time where technological progress has advanced sufficiently to warrant the evolution of technology into a realm of total control over nature. While many may view this argument as either absurd or overstated, there are those that view it as being both.

There are those who think that the concept of evolution of technology should be used in the study of technological development because technological development does not happen overnight. It takes place over time and the evolution of technology is an inevitable part of this process. It is also a matter of economics and technology tends to become more complex as the technology becomes more specialized.

Some would argue that this is the point where there should be no further experimentation and the invention of new technologies should be stopped immediately. Others would say that technological progress is only going to continue to increase and advance until human intervention is no longer necessary. As human intervention continues, it will inevitably increase the power of human endeavor and the rate of technological advancement will eventually slow down.

When humans can control the pace of technology, then they have the ability to control the direction of the human endeavor. If humans are given the option to control the pace of technological advancement, then they will, in fact, be able to make decisions that will directly affect the direction of the human endeavor. They will be able to control the evolution of technology by deciding which innovations are too dangerous and must be stopped. If humans decide that an innovation is too dangerous, then it is stopped and its development halted.

However, if humans decide to let the evolution of technology occur, then they will eventually find a way to stop the evolutionary process from accelerating further. For instance, they could decide to build a barrier around the world, which would stop all of the advancements from happening to an extent that it would completely destroy the world. However, if the world is left without any form of protection from the advancing of technology, then mankind could be left with no other option but to die out completely.

In the conclusion of the Evolution of Technology essay, the author states that there are some who believe that we are currently living in an environment that is perfect and that we are all on the threshold of an advanced state of existence and the only thing standing between us and this state of existence is the existence of intelligent life. Therefore, this author argues that all of our efforts should be geared towards the study of the evolution of life in order to determine whether or not the world we have now is worthy of preservation. This should be done to prove that we do not have a place in the world that has already been created and will be destroyed.

Some may look at this argument and think that if we do not allow the technological evolution to progress, then we would not be able to keep up with the advances in the other parts of our lives. They would feel that they have no future and therefore would simply move on to something else.

If humans take the time to understand and learn more about the evolution of technology, then they can make better choices for their future and make wiser decisions. This is the only way that they could ensure the future they desire. However, if they fail to do so, then their past mistakes may be repeated.
